Vietnam War was a protracted and unsuccessful effort by South Vietnam and the United States to prevent the communists of North Vietnam from uniting South Vietnam with North Vietnam under their leadership. A lot of US soldiers were killed during the War that lasted for 20 years from 1955 to 1975.
